I think 98% of “professional investors” don’t read the AR. One of the best tips I ever got; read the AR back to front…literally. Always, start on the last page and finish with the first page. You start with the contingencies, pension liabilities and operating leases, etc. By the time you get to the CEO’s letter you know exactly what is happening in the company and have an informed opinion against which to judge him. Anyway, it has worked for me.
